Manufacture Your Career Event – Spring 2025

SVAM hosted a Manufacture Your Career panel discussion at Mountain Empire Community College on April 7th. The purpose of this program is to encourage college students to pursue careers in manufacturing by changing perceptions and educating them about available opportunities. For each event, panelists spoke to students and faculty about their companies, the benefits of working in manufacturing, and available job opportunities.

Panelists were James Parton, Final Assembly Supervisor at Komatsu Mining, Mason Deboard, Production Coordinator at VFP, Samantha Dowell, Human Resources Business Partner at Tate, and Ragan Proffitt, Manufacturing Engineer Lead at Tate. Thank you to Matthew Rose with MECC for hosting us, and to our panelists for helping SVAM accomplish its goals.
