The winner of SVAM’s 2020 Outstanding Woman in Manufacturing Award is Carolyn Powers, Regulatory and Compliance Specialist at Scholle IPN in Chilhowie, Virginia. Carolyn began her career at Scholle IPN in 1997 as a front line production employee and successfully worked her way through each level of Packer, Operator and Quality. Throughout her tenure at Scholle IPN, she has helped lead successful problem solving activities and participated in Lean events to help improve our processes. Most recently Carolyn was promoted to Regulatory and Compliance Specialist. Scholle IPN has had a social responsibility committee for a number of years which allows employees to volunteer their time to community initiatives. Carolyn has always helped with these activities and outreach events, including visits to local nursing homes, Relay for Life teams, supported Back Pack program, and helped with fundraisers at the plant for supporting local families in need.
