Community Impact – VFP, Inc.
Duffield, VA
Since 1965, VFP Industries, headquartered in Roanoke, has worked alongside our customers to develop customized solutions for protecting critical components. VFP’s modern factory in Duffield, VA handles all shelter construction, assembly and system integration. Concrete shelters are assembled from individual panels made in our casting area. Metal shelter assembly utilizes panels fabricated in our on-site metal fabrication shop. From assembly, shelters are integrated with customer-specified features and equipment including power distribution, HVAC equipment, communications hardware, and support systems.
VFP, Inc. of Duffield, VA has been honored with the Community Impact Award in recognition of its extraordinary commitment to Southwest Virginia. VFP’s community support goes far beyond donations—it is rooted in long-term relationships, hands-on involvement, and a corporate culture that values service. Whether partnering with Mountain Empire Community College to provide workforce development and over $75,000 in training materials, or rolling up their sleeves for landscaping and renovation projects at local elementary schools, VFP leads by example in building stronger communities.
Employees regularly volunteer their time through programs like Habitat for Humanity, Feeding Southwest Virginia, and Clean Valley Council. From building homes to packaging food boxes, their impact is deeply personal and widely felt. What sets VFP apart is not only the scale of their giving—over $46,000 donated since 2024 alone—but the way they empower employees to give back, offering paid volunteer time and actively encouraging community involvement.
By investing in youth, supporting schools, uplifting nonprofits, and backing local sports teams, VFP has become a pillar of the region. Their work is proof that when a business commits to community, everyone wins. Congratulations to VFP on this well-deserved recognition for outstanding community impact.
VFP is beyond overwhelmed to be recognized by SVAM and our peers in the fields of manufacturing, community service, and safety. We are striving to set the bar higher for ourselves in everything we do, and these distinctions help to validate these efforts. Reflecting on the recent awards dinner, we are very thankful and grateful. VFP plans to create opportunities that lead to success for our employees, the organization, and our community. – William Regert, EH&S Director, VFP, Inc.
