Hapco has a long history dating to 1843. The parent corporation, Hubbard and Company, originated as a national manufacturer of forgings and stampings. The company was a major contributor to the emerging telephone and power industries of the late 19th century. The company moved to Abingdon, Virginia in 1962. Today, after over 50 years and multiple plant expansions, the skilled workforce continues to vigorously pursue the founder’s original commitment of “the highest quality” products in the lighting pole products industry. To assure the highest quality products, Hapco poles are structurally designed to stringent specifications that meet or exceed American Association of State Highway & Transportation Officials (AASHTO) standards.
